Shaheed E Millat XI claims title of SSB Cup Basketball Tournament 2019
Shaheed E Millat XI earned an easy win against Allama Iqbal XI by 42-38 in the final of SSB Cup Basketball Tournament 2019 to clinch the title at Abdul Nasir Basketball Courts, Arambagh in Karachi.
Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) in collaboration with Sindh Sports Board (SSB) organized the SSB Cup Basketball Tournament 2019 which was organized to pay homage to Father of the Nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The said tournament successfully concluded with Shaheed E Millat XI team triumphing over Allama Iqbal XI team on the final score of 42-38 in the final to claim the title.
Usman Khawaja alongside Ubaid Hafeez were instrumental in guiding their team towards the title victory of the tournament by scoring 14 and 13 points, respectively. While Saad Salahuddin contributed with 11 points.
Hamza Parwani with his 12 points and Shariq Suleman and Hamza Khawaja scoring 10 points each could not do enough to earn Allama Iqbal XI the title of the event.
Pakistan American Culture Center President, Syed Makhdoom Ali Riaz was the honorable chief guest who at the concluding ceremony gave away trophies and cash prizes to the high achievers.
Speaking on the occasion, he said he was impressed by the quality of game presented by both teams and termed the event a best way to pay homage to Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
