Peshawar born, Hamza Khan strong contender for British Open under-15 title

Humza Khan is expected to win the under-15 event at the Dunlop British Junior Open 2020 in Birmingham next month.

Pakistan has a brilliant record at British Junior Open as electrifying squash juniors of nation have won a total of 12 titles since 1999, now eighteen promising juniors are set to compete in prestigious British Junior Open 2020 which is schedule to be held from January 2-6, 2020 in England. 

Hailing from Peshawar, Humza Khan is expected to win the under-15 event at the Dunlop British Junior Open 2020 in Birmingham next month. A look at the draws published this week reveals that the final in that category will possibly be between Jonah Bryant and Abdallah Eissa but they will face a tough fight from India’s Yuvraj Wadhwani and Pakistan’s Humza Khan who could emerge either as winners or the finalists.

It is to be noted that over 800 players from 56 nations will compete across four Birmingham venues from January 2-6 to compete for 10 titles.


Muhammad Ammad and Anas Ali Shah are seeded ninth in the under-15 category.

Talented Farhan Hashmi is seeded fifth and Noor Zaman ninth in the under-17 category.

In the under-13 category, Abdullah Nawaz and Sakhiullah Khan are seeded 33rd. Humam Ahmed and Mazlan Khawar are seeded 65th in the under-15 category.

In the under-17 category, Asadullah Khan is seeded 17th, and Waleed Khalil, Ashab Irfan and Syed Hasnain have got the 33rd seeding.

In the under-19 category, Haris Qasim and Hamza Sharif are seeded 17th, while Naveed Rehman and Uzair Shaukat have been handed the 33rd seeding. Zeeshan Zeb is seeded 65th. 

The 2020 British Junior Open will feature more than 800 players, from 56 countries. The draws will be announced in December.
