“We have made a favourable draw for our team. We have placed our top players against Egypt’s low ranked players to increase our chances of winning,” Secretary PSF Amir Nawaz told ‘The News’.
According to the draws, based on the international rankings of players for the month of March, released by PSF, Ali Farag will play against Asim Khan on April 6.
In the second match, Mazem Hesham will be up against US-based Shahjahan Khan, son of former player Zarak Jehan Khan.
The third match will be between Karim A Gawad and Tayyab Aslam. On the next day, Tarek Momin will play against Farhan Mehboob and M Abouleghar will face Farhan Zaman.
However, based on the seedings as per their rankings the actual draw will have World No 58 Farhan Zaman versus World No 6 Tariq Momen; World No 75 Tayyab versus World No 7 Karim Abdul Gawad.
World No 99 Shahjahan versus World No 14 Ali Farag; World No 115 Farhan Mehbub versus World No 17 Mazen Hasham; and World No 144 Asim versus World No 25 Mohammad Abouleghar.
