Sana Mir named captain of the Wisden’s women’s team of the decade

Former captain of Pakistan women's team, Sana Mir, has been announced as the captain of the Wisden’s women’s team of the decade

Pakistani cricketer Sana Mir has been named captain of the "Wisden’s women’s team of the decade" on Saturday, making her the only Pakistani to feature on the list.

The team has been selected as part of Wisden’s decade in review.

Mir, who has played 120 matches and taken 151 wickets from them, was named captain by a panel comprising Yas Rana, Adam Collins, Isabelle Westbury and Raf Nicholson.

Isabelle Westbury lauded Mir's importance for Pakistan women's team,"She comes into the Stafanie Taylor mould of somebody that’s had to really carry their team over a period."

Katherine Brunt, Sarah Taylor and Charlotte Edwards were selected from England.

Ellyse Perry and Meg Lanning from Australia have also been named on the team.

Earlier this year, Mir had equaled the world record for the most number of wickets by an off-spinner when she took her 146th scalp.

Currently the off spinner is on an indefinite break from cricket.
