Hosts Gujranwala secures top spot of 3rd Kyrgyz Ambassador National Mas-Wrestling Championship
Among several participating regions, Gujranwala took the first position of the Kyrgyz Ambassador National Mas-Wrestling Championship 2019 which successfully concluded in Gujranwala.
Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation in collaboration with International Mas-Wrestling Federation and Embassy of the Kyrgyzstan, successfully organized the third edition of Kyrgyz Ambassador National Mas-Wrestling Championship in Gujranwala.
The Ambassador of the Kyrgyzstan Republic, H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev, who was the honorable chief guest at the concluding ceremony, has a keen interest for promoting Sports and Culture Diplomacy in Pakistan. In this contest the Embassy of the Kyrgyzstan Republic successfully organized this championship consecutively for the third time, where participants from all over Pakistan came up front to showcase their talent by competing against each other so as to earn the title of the event.

- South & Central Punjab
- Sindh
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
- Baluchistan
- Azad Jammu & Kashmir
- Gilgit Baltistan
While Mas-Wrestlers from USA, Russia and the Kyrgyzstan Republic also took part in the championship.
Among these 9 participating nations, the host city, Gujranwala triumphed to secure top spot of the championship and was followed by Punjab team on the runner up position. Bahawalpur squad settled for the third spot.

H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev in his speech said,
“I saw so many athletes coming from all over Pakistan to this beautiful and rapidly developing city of Gujranwala, who engaged in a very old sport: Mas-Wrestling, which originates from Siberia and now becoming very popular in the world. In Kyrgyz language this game is called Taiak Tartysh meaning stick pulling and is mentioned in an ancient 1000 years old Kyrgyz epic called Manas”.
To promote the Cultural Diplomacy a beautiful cultural dance was also performed at the championship. At the end of the Championship, the chief guest presented medals, trophies and certificates to the high achievers.
