Squash prodigy Huzaifa Ibrahim beats Egypt's no.1 Yassien 3-0 to grab US Junior Open 2019 title

After 18 years, Huzaifa Ibrahim from Karachi, has secured the title of US Junior Open Squash Championship for Pakistan by edging out top seed Yassien Shohdy of Egypt in Allston, USA.

Asian no.2 Huzaifa Ibrahim outlasted top seed of US Junior Open Yassien Shohdy of Egypt in a very close match of U15 category.


Huzaifa fought like a tiger and announced to the world that he’s here and ready to face any player of squash in the world.

In a highly charged opening game, both players kept each other engaged in long rallies and both looked highly cautious and were not ready to hand over advantage to other. Karachi-born Huzaifa availed any chance that came his way and matched fire with fire to wrap up the first game at 13-11.

Sixth seeded Huzaifa through his best shots took control over the no.1 seeded Egyptian, Yassien, and took the second game 11-4. The third game ended with the same score as the second as the squash prodigy Huzaifa won the title 3-0.

The final score line was 13-11, 11-4, 11-4.

With this victory, Huzaifa secured his 24th International Junior Squash title.
