Usman Club & KBBC book berths in the finale of Shukriya Jinnah Basketball Tournament 2019

Usman Club and KBBC teams defeated their respective opponents to qualify for the final of Shukriya Jinnah Basketball Tournament 2019 which is being played at Abdul Nasir basketball courts in Arambagh, Karachi.

The two-day Shukriya Jinnah Basketball Tournament 2019 witnessed Usman Basketball Club and Karachi Basketball Club (KBBC) teams triumphing in their respective matches to book their spots in the final which will be played today at 08:30 PM at Abdul Nasir basketball courts in Arambagh, Karachi. 

The first game of the event saw Usman Club earning a hard fought victory against Civil Club by just a single point.

Civil Club performed equally well, giving tough time to the players of Usman Club but eventually lost the game on the final score of 49-48. 

It was a combined effort of Shariq Suleman (19), Human Aslam (10) and Sameer Ahmed (5) for Usman Club that  booked their team a spot in the finale of the tournament. 

While the splendid game play of Faizan Yousuf, Ubaid Hafeez and Muhammad Zahid who scored 12, 10 and 10 points each, was not enough for the win for Civil Club. 

Whereas in the second encounter, Karachi Basketball Club easily overpowered Arambagh Basketball Cub on the final score of 50-46.

Daniyal Ahmed guided his team towards the victory with 14 points alongside Raj Kumar's contribution of 12 points. Umar Khan also scored 10 points for the winning team. 

For the losing team, Raheel Mubin managed to score 12 points while Abdul Rehman and Asad Hafeez managed to score 10 points each. 

This tournament is being held to pay homage to the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, where total four teams are battling against each other to win the title of the tournament. 

Earlier, Col Sajid Sharif Malik formally opened the event in the presence of Major Amir Haider, DSR Rangers Sindh, Tariq Khattak and Tahir Niazi, Pakistan Basketball Federation Vice President, Khalid Jameel Shamsi.

Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) President, Ghulam Muhammad was also present at the opening ceremony, who, in his speech, praised DG Rangers Sindh Major-General, Umar Ahmad Bukhari for his consistent support and patronage of sports in the metropolis and for maintaining law and order.
