Sindh, Central Punjab register wins in U16 One day tournament

Sindh U16 overcame Balochistan by three wickets while Central Punjab U16 had a dominant outing against Southern Punjab in matches played at different venues of Faisalabad.

Balochistan U16 v Sindh U16, Bohranwali Ground, Faisalabad 

Sindh beat Balochistan by three wickets in an entertaining match at Bohranwali Ground in Faisalabad. 

Sindh, after winning the toss, invited Balochistan to bat first.

The Balochistan outfit could not recover from early and regular wicket loss and failed to string partnerships together. As a result they were bowled out for 114 runs in 34.4 overs.

Muhammad Nasir top-scored for his side with 22 runs while Aimal Khan contributed 14.

For Sindh U16, Saad Asif took three wickets for 16 runs while Hassan Asim and Aaliyan Mehmood took two wickets each.

In reply Sindh struggled initially as well but completed the target in 27 overs for the loss of seven wickets.

Ali Hassan scored 32 runs to see his side through while last match's centurion Mirza Saad Baig scored 30 runs.

Adil Ahmad Khan took three wickets for his side to cause jitters in opposition ranks but could not prevent his side from losing. Faizullah and Basit Ali took two wickets each as well.

Southern Punjab U16 v Central Punjab U16, Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad

Central Punjab beat Southern Punjab by 64 runs in the other one day tournament match played at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

Batting first, Central Punjab posted 202 for eight in the allotted 45 overs courtesy of Afzal Manzoor's 43 runs off 42 balls. His innings included eight fours.

Usama Zahid also contributed valuable 34 runs.

Bilal Ahmed took three wickets for Southern Punjab while Muhammad Abubakar took two.

Southern Punjab were restricted to 138 for nine in reply failing to get close to the target. Muhammad Ammar made 42, Moheer Saeed scored 36 while Muhammad Hasim contributed 25 runs but could not prevent a loss for their team.

Arham Nawab bowled a miserly spell and conceded a mere six runs in nine overs in which he took three wickets for the winners while Muneeb Wasif and Soban Malik added a pair of wickets each.
