Iftikhar Academy to compete for the title against District South in Basketball event of DMC East Karachi 1st Mini Olympics Sports Festival
Iftikhar Syed Academy and District South basketball teams defeated their respective opponents in the semi-finals of DMC East Karachi Mini Olympics Sports Festival 2019 at Abdul Nasir Courts in Arambagh, Karachi.
After tough fights in their respective semi-final matches, Iftikhar Syed Academy and District South Basketball Teams defeated their respective opponents to book their spots in the grand finale of DMC East Karachi 1st Mini Olympics Sports Festival.
District Korangi Basketball Team faced defeat by just a 4 points difference against Iftikhar Syed Academy whose players managed to score in crucial times to win the game on the final score line of 50-46.
Tashfeen Zaidi scored game-high 18 points with assistance from Asad Mirza who added 16 points while Kashif Sarwari scored 5.
While in the second semi-final, District South team had to struggle to earn their place in the final as their opponents District East put up a tough fight before falling by the different of two points at 42-40.
Raj Lakhwani and Daniyal Ahmed were main scorers for the winners each scoring 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) President, Ghulam Muhammad Khan was the honorable chief guest who also paid tribute to Chairman DMC East, Moid Anwar for organizing the grand event to provide positive opportunity to the city youth.
International officials Abdul Nasir and Muhammad Yaqoob were also present on the occasion.
