At Badminton cover hall, Pokhara, Pakistan’s men and women teams lost to India in the team semi-finals and had to be content with bronze medals.
In the women’s team event, Gayatri Gopichand Pullela of India stopped Palwasha Bashir with the final score line of 21-14, 21-11 while Indian Sai Uttejitha Rao Chukka defeated Pakistan’s no.1 Mahoor Shahzad by 21-12, 21-18.
In men’s team semifinals fixtures, Indian pair of Arun George & Sanyam Shukla beat Pakistani duo of Raja Muhammad Hasnain & Atique Muhammad by 21-12, 21-12.
In the second fixture of team event, Meghna Jakkampudi & Sikki Reddy Nelakurthi defeated Javeed Huma & Akram Sheera by 2-0 with the final score line of 21-14, 21-12.
In another team semifinals, Krishna Prasad Garanga of India overpowered Pakistan’s no.1 Murad Ali with the final score line of 21-19, 21-18. Meanwhile, another Green-man Awais Zahid lost to Sri Sai Siril Varma Alluri of India by 21-7, 21-7.
A total of 94 players from seven countries are competing in the competition for 7 Gold, 7 Silver, and 14 Bronze medals.
Pakistan is featuring in 20 disciplines. The event will conclude on December 10. In the last SAG held in India in 2016, Pakistan finished third after India and Sri Lanka by claiming 12 gold medals.
