36th National Junior Hockey Championship 2019 moves into quarterfinal stage
The 36th National Junior Hockey Championship entered the quarter-finals stage at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.
The ongoing 36th edition of National Junior Hockey Championship 2019 entered into the quarter-finals stage at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.
Sui Southern Gas Company, Punjab-A, Army-A, Port Qasim, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-A, Mari Petroleum, WAPDA and Customs made the last-eight stage after the final pool round matches ended with seven games.
In the first match of the day, Sindh-B defeated Punjab-D 4-0 with scoring coming from Arslan at 51st and 59th minutes while Sardar Khan scored at 1st minute and Mohammad Haris Naseer at 11th minute.
Port Qasim Authority (PQA) taught a hockey lesson to Punjab-B as the former registered a lopsided 12-1 victory. Four-goal Faheem Khan at (34th, 35th, 40th, 47th) was the major contributor. Haris (3rd, 31st), Abdur Rehman (50th, 59th), Mehtab (24th), Bilal (21st), Ammar (53rd) and Sajjad (45th) were the other scorers to help their side to an easy win.
Hat-tricks by Shahbaz (2nd, 4th, 31st), Abbas (3rd, 7th, 33rd) and Hamza (6th, 13th, 21st) helped Customs flatten Gilgit 18-0 in their fixture.
Meanwhile, Balochistan defeated Sindh-A 4-2 in another match of the day. Abdul Nafeeh (10th), Miraj Ali (15th ), Sheer Mohammad Khan (32nd) and Mohammad Younus (52nd) scored for the victors. For Sindh-A, Mohammad Daniyal (8th) and Shoban Ali (23rd) reduced the margin of defeat.
In another one-sided game, Punjab-C outclassed AJK 4-0 as Taki-ul-Hassan (22nd), Rana Waheed (48th), Khawaja Aun Abbas (53rd) and Mohammad Raza (54th) sounded the board.
MPCL defeated Army-B 4-2. For the winners, Afraz (26th, 43rd), Ihtesham (48th) and Asif Hanif (60th) were the scorers. Sajid (53rd) and Zaheer Ahmad (56th) chipped in with a goal apiece for Army-B.
Islamabad edged out KP-B 2-1 as Esa Khan (17th) and Usman Ali (24th) smashed the goals for the victors. Qasim in the 57th minute managed to score one for KP-B.
