Young karatekas, Shahida and Awais grab first Golds for Pakistan at 13th South Asian Games
Among several participants, Pakistan's Shahida and Awais won first two Gold medals for the country in the Karate competitions of South Asian Games 2019 which are being held in Nepal.
The 13th South Asian Games, a biennial multi-sport event held among the athletes from South Asia, is featuring a total of 27 sports among which Pakistani athletes are participates in 19 of them. The Karate team of Pakistan became the first of Pakistani contingent to grab Gold medals for the country at this international event.
The first two Golds for the country were grabbed by Shahida and Mohammad Awais in Individual Kata and 85 KG weight classes respectively.
Along with these two Gold medals the Pakistani squad in Karate also claimed three Silver and four Bronze in other categories whose results are stated below:
