Skillful Mahoor, Palwasha, Ghazala storm into South Asian Games 2019 team semifinals

Pakistan’s badminton team advanced into the semifinals of South Asian Games 2019 being held at Badminton cover hall, Pokhara, Nepal.

 
Brilliant Mahoor shahzad, Palwasha Bashir and emerging Ghazala Siddique steered Pakistan badminton team towards the women's team semifinals of South Asian Games 2019 being held at Badminton cover hall, Pokhara, Nepal. 

Pakistan team overpowered Maldives to move into the women's team semifinal. 

In the first match, badminton sensation Mahoor Shahzad who sits at 173rd in the world, showed her capability to whip Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq of Maldives in the female’s team quarterfinal.

The final score line was 21-19, 21-14.

Karachi's native Palwasha Bashir, after losing the first game, bounced back strongly against Neela Ahmed Najeeb of Maldives to win the quarterfinal with the final score line of 16-21, 23-21, 21-17.

Another incipient shuttler of Pakistan Ghazala Siddique trounced Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq of Maldives in straight games by 21-15, 21-15 in the women’s team quarterfinal.

In men’s doubles team semifinals fixtures, Indian pair of Arun George & Sanyam Shukla beat Pakistani duo of Raja Muhammad Hasnain & Atique Muhammad by 21-12, 21-12.

In the second seminal of same category, Meghna Jakkampudi & Sikki Reddy Nelakurthi defeated Javeed Huma & Akram Sheera by 2-0 with the final score line of 21-14, 21-12.

In another team semifinals, Krishna Prasad Garanga of India overpowered Pakistan’s no.1 Ali Murad with the final score line of 21-19, 21-18. Meanwhile, another Green-man Zahid Awais lost to Sri Sai Siril Varma Alluri of India by 21-7, 21-7.
