19-member Pakistani Karate contingent to take part in 13th South Asian Games
Karate squad of Pakistan consisting of total 19 members, left for Nepal to take part in the South Asian Games 2019 which will be held from 1 to 10 December in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
The information provided by Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) states that the Karate team of Pakistan is all set to try their luck in the 13th South Asian Games that will begin it's proceedings from 1st December and continue for ten days straight.
Karate Squad: Iqra Anwar (-45 KG), Sabira Gul (-50 KG), Sana Kausar (-55 KG), Naz Gul (-61 KG), Kulsoom (-68 KG), Nargis (+68 KG), Shahida (Individual Kata), Nouman Ahmed (-50 KG), Murad Khan (-55 KG), Zafar Iqbal (-60 KG), Naseer Ahmed (-67 KG), Saadi Abbas (-75 KG), Mohammad Awais (-84 KG), Baz Mohammad (+84 KG), Rehman Ullah (Team Kumite), Shehbaz Khan (Team Kumite), Niamat Ullah (Individual Kata).
Officials: Shah Mohammad Shan (Coach) and Andleep Sandhu (Manager).
PKF will be pinning their hopes for a medal on the shoulders of Saadi Abbas who is the Asian champion and two-time Commonwealth Championship Gold medalist. Besides this, he is also fighting for an Olympic seat and is well-poised to achieve this milestone.
PKF Chairman, Mohammad Jehangir said that,
"We definitely hope for four gold medals despite lack of preparation."
