PAK Railways' Judo athlete, Arwa Afridi clinches two Golds at 2nd World Alpagut Championship
Emerging Judo athlete from Pakistan Railways grabbed two Gold medals in two different competitions at the 2019 World Alpagut Championship which successfully concluded in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Pakistan Railways', Arwa Afridi, who masters in the sport of Judo, has won two gold medals at the recently concluded 2nd World Alpagut Championship that was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
She clinched this historic victory of two Golds among 600 participants from over 24 countries that participated in the competition. Arwa went into this championship alongside eight other Pakistani martial artists where 2 were females and 7 males.
With their tremendous efforts, the Pakistani athletes were able to carry their flag to the fourth spot in the overall ranking of the said event.
Arwa featured in two different categories which included: Part Fighting and Grappling under 18-34 age class where she managed to add two Golds to her winning tally and now has the honor of becoming the first ever female athlete in the history of Pakistan to win two Gold medals at the second successful edition of World Alpagut Championships.
World Alpagut Championships is a martial arts event with its specific norms, traditions and philosophy and is known to be a warrior sport.
