Pakistan U23 cricket team wins ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019
Pakistan U23 defeated Bangladesh U23 convincingly by 77 runs to win the ACC Emering Teams Asia Cup 2019 final played at Shere Bangla Stadium, Dhaka.
ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 Cox's Bazar and DhakaPakistan U23 won the final of ACC Emering Teams Asia Cup 2019 at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium by defeating Bangladesh U23 in a convincing fashion by 77 runs.
Bangladesh started the chase of 302 in an aggressive fashion before losing their way in the middle overs. Soumya Sarkar and Naim Shekih raced to 23 runs of 2 overs before Sameen Gul had Soymya Sarkar caught at 15.
The team never got into the chase again as Pakistani bowlers kept chipping away at their batting lineup with regular wickets.
Yasir Ali Chowdhury and captain Nazmul Shanto added 51 for the third wicket but the pressure of the scoreboard was too much as they lost their wickets soon afterwards.
Bangladesh lost half their side with the score being 142 and soon found themselves all out for 224 runs, conceding the game by 77 runs.
Nazmul Shanto, Afif Hossain Dhrubo and Mahadi Hasan contributed 46, 49 and 42 runs respectively. No other batsman could add anything significant to the scoreline.
Mohammed Hasnain finished with 3 wickets for his side while Kushdil Shah and Saif Badar managed to pick up two wickets each. Sameen Gul, Ammad Butt and Umer Khan ended with a wicket apiece.
Earlier in the match Pakistan put 301 runs on the board after being invited to bat in the final game of the tournament.
Rohail Nazir hit a magnificent 113 to take his side to a daunting score. His innings came off 111 balls and included 12 fours and 3 sixes.
He was well supported by Imran Rafique who scored 62 and captain Saud Shakeel who added 42 runs to the total.
Kushdil Shah and Ammad Butt provided the fireworks in the end hitting quickfire 27 and 15 runs to take the final tally to 301 for 6.
