Sindh U19 cricket team rewarded for their spectacular season

Quetta Gladiators owner and KCCA president Nadeem Omar announced a handsome cash prize of Rs one million for the National one-day and three-day champions Sindh Under-19 team in a ceremony held in Karachi.

Quetta Gladiators owner and KCCA president Nadeem Omar on Wednesday announced a handsome cash prize of Rs one million for the National one-day and three-day champions Sindh Under-19 team in a ceremony held at a local hotel in Karachi. 

Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani was the chief guest of the ceremony and praised the performance of the Sindh junior team.

Shallwani applauded the efforts of the champion team and congratulated them on winning the tournament. He said that Karachi is the city of cricket and he would organize a cricket carnival in the city before the Pakistan, Sri Lanka series next month.

Nadeem, who also heads Omar Associates, said that the win is a reflection of great hard work from the Sindh under-19 team which displayed high class cricket to win the title.

“Karachi has always produced talented players and there is no dearth of talent in the city. Not only in Pakistan but the players from Karachi have always excelled in their skills internationally and been the pride of the country"


“I have always tried my best to create opportunities and facilities for the players of the city and for that we are working on the rehabilitation of the KCCA stadium. The government should also play its role in the reconstruction of the facility in the city.”

Ex-Pakistan and current Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmad, head coach Moin Khan, opening batsman Ahmad Shahzad, left-arm pacer Mir Hamza along with ex-Test and ODI pacer Jalaluddin were also present on the occasion.

Mohammad Taha received the shield for Best All-rounder of the tournament while Arish Ali was declared Best Bowler and Saim Ayub was declared Best Batsman of the tournament.

Jahanzeb Sultan, Mohammd Makki, Amir Ali, Head coach Mohammad Masroor and Assistant Coach Tahir Mehmood also received shields from chief guest while medals were given to other member of the team.
