Master Paints & Zacky Farms enjoy bright polo day at Cancer Care Hospital Charity Polo Cup 2019
Zacky Farms and Master Paints won the opening day fixtures of Cancer Care Hospital Charity Polo Cup 2019 being played at the Lahore Polo & Country Club (LP&CC) Lahore.
At the Lahore Polo & Country Club (LP&CC) Lahore the opening day of Annual Cancer Care Hospital Charity Polo Cup 2019 took place. The inaugural match of the event was played between Artema Medical and Zacky Farms.
Even though the day started with poor weather, the sun eventually came out and brightened the day for Zacky Farms as their team showed great polo skills to beat Artema Medical/Black Horse Paints by 10½-9.
From the winning side, which had a half goal handicap advantage, Hashim Kamal Agha scored a quartet while Hamza Khan and Nazar Din banged in a brace each and Captain Umair Ghazi hit one.
From the losing side, Hamza Mawaz Khan struck superb six goals while Daniyal Sheikh struck two and Ahmed Bilal Riaz one, but their efforts were futile.
In the second eight-chukker match of the day, Master Paints had a half goal edge over Diamond Paints after the first four chukkers, as they were enjoying 8-7½ lead.
Mariano Raigal excelled from Master Paints as he struck sterling six goals while Sufi Amir hit the remaining two. From Diamond Paints, which had two and a half goal handicap advantage, Raja Arslan Najeeb and Halal Arslan hit a brace each while Mir Shoaib Ahmed converted one.
The Annual Cancer Care Hospital Charity Polo Cup 2019 was inaugurated by Managing Director Treet Corporation Syed Shahid Ali, who is also International Olympic Committee (IOC) representative in Pakistan.
Other notables present at the opening ceremony were Cancer Care Hospital Organizing Director Dr Shaharyar, Lahore Polo & Country Club President Col (R) Shoaib Aftab, polo players and their families and a great number of polo enthusiasts.
LP&CC President Col (R) Shoaib Aftab thanked the sponsors for sponsoring the event and hoped that they will continue to support this game of kings.
