“Omar got injured so he is not coming,” said Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) treasurer Sikandar Mayo while talking to ‘The News’. “World number 25 Mohamed Abouelghar is coming in place of him,” he said.
He said the five players coming to Karachi now are World No 6 Tariq Momen, World No 7 Karim Abdul Gawad, World No 14 Ali Farag, and World No 17 Mazen Hasham.
“PSF has almost completed the installation of a four-walled state-of-the-art glass court for the event,” said Sikandar.
According to the draws of this Legends versus Champions Squash Series, Ali Farag will start the campaign by playing against Asim Khan on April 6.
In the second match, Mazem Hesham will be up against US-based Shahjahan Khan, son of former player Zarak Jehan Khan.
The third match will be between Karim A Gawad and Tayyab Aslam.
On the next day, Tarek Momin will play against Farhan Mehboob and M Abouleghar will face Farhan Zaman.
All matches are scheduled in the evening.
Before this series, a local competition will be held. On April 4, Mansoor Zaman will play against Abdul Malik, Zahab Khan will face Noor ul Huda, and Kashif Asif will take on Mehran Javed.
On April 5, Abbas Shoukat will play against Kashif Asif, Maria Toor is to face Sadia Gul, and Israr Ahmed will play against Ali Bukhari.
