Pakistan U23 skittle Sri Lanka U23 for second consecutive win

Pakistan U23 defeated Sri Lanks U23 by 90 runs in their second match of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup at Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

 

Pakistan U23 won their second consecutive match of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 by defeating Sri Lanka U23 by 90 runs at Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

Put into bat by Sri Lanka on a bowler friendly wicket, Pakistan managed to squeeze out 183 runs before being bowled out with one ball to go in their innings. 

Pakistani batsmen could not put together any considerable partnerships losing wicket at regular intervals. 

Rohail Nazir, Kushdil Shah and Amad Butt were to main contributors to the scoreline with 37, 32 and 44 runs respectively.

For Sri Lanka Asitha Fernando was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 3 wickets for 28 runs.

Defending a small total, albeit on a bowling track, Pakistan flexed its bowling prowess rolling over Sri Lankan batsmen for just 93 runs. 

Sri Lanka looked more than comfortable at first, sitting at 60 for 1 before losing their way thanks to a superb bowling effort by a strong bowling attack.

Muhammad Hasnain spearheaded the effort for his side with his pace picking up 6 wickets for 19 runs. He was supplemented by spinner Umer Khan who sent back two batsmen for only 4 runs. 

Kushdil Shah took two wickets as well to finish Sri Lankan innings. 

Pakistan will now take on Oman in their next fixture.
