Army claims eight Gold & nine Silver medals in National Games 2019 rowing competition

On the opening day of rowing competition Pakistan Army bagged eight gold and nine silver medals. Followed by second-placed WAPDA (six gold, five silver). Railways are third with two gold and as many silver medals.
According to the Pakistan Rowing Federation, in the 500-metre individual event Army won gold, WAPDA seized silver while Punjab clinched bronze.
In light men event of 500 metres, Army secured gold followed by Railways while in light women 2000 metres WAPDA grabbed gold followed by second-placed Army and bronze winners Railways.
The rowing event, which is part of the National Games being held in Peshawar, is being organised at Rawal Dam, Islamabad.
