Usama Arif to feature in 12th World Open Karate Championship
Pakistan's emerging Karate fighter, Usama Arif reached Japan this morning to compete in the 2019 World Open Karate Championship which will take place in Tokyo, Japan.
The 12th World Open Karate Championship is all set to roll into action from tomorrow and will continue till 12th November where athletes from as many as 101 countries are participating among which 161 are the male competitors while 43 are female fighters.
The 21 year old, Usama Arif is the only participant representing Pakistan on this international platform where he will be facing Diego Coelho of Brazil in his first fight at 10 AM (Japanese time).
Usama Arif has won several national level events such as, All Punjab Karate Tournament in open weight category from Nankana Sahib then collected another win in the year 2017 at All Punjab Karate Tournament (State Championship) in - 80 KG class from Chakwal, Punjab Pakistan.
In 2016 he added another win to his tally by winning the All Azad Kashmir Karate Tournament in open weight category from Mirpur AJK.
Usama is being accompanied by his coach in the World Open Karate Championship 2019 in Japan, who both, after the championship ends, will then attend a training camp for three days in Tokyo, Japan.
