Pakistani players make further inroads on Day 1 of YONEX Sunrise Pakistan International Series 2019
YONEX Sunrise Pakistan International Series 2019 brought good fortunes for local men in Singles and Doubles categories as majority of entrants gained entry into the second round.
Day 1 of Yonex Sunrise Pakistan International Series 2019 came to an end with a number of local participants gaining entry into the second round of Men's Singles and Doubles category.
B. R. Sankeerth, the number one seed of the tournament, was awarded a walkover in the very first match of the tournament. He will now face Murad Ali of Pakistan who managed to defeated his compatriot Raja Muhammad Husnain in the longest match of the day by the scores of 14-21, 21-10, 21-19 in 45min.
Other Pakistani shuttlers to join Murad Ali in the round of 16 include Raja Muhammad Zulqarnain Haider, Muhammad Irfan Saeed Bhatti, Awais Zahid, Abdur Rehman, Mohammad Ali Larosh, Muhammad Tahir, Azeem Sarwar and Amir Saeed who all prevailed in their encounters.

Muhammad Irfan Saeed Bhatti will be up against the third seed Milan Ludik of Czech Republic while Murad Ali will face the first seed B.R. Sankeerth of Canada. Raja Muhamamd Zulqarnain Haider will tussle with the sixth seed Saran Jamsri of Thailand.
In other games of the day Muhammad Tahir will face the fourth seed Geroges Julien Paul of Mauritius while Awais Zahid will face his compatriot Abdur Rehman. Muhammad Ali Larosh will face the eight seed Dipesh Dhami of Bhutan.
The last two games of the men's singles competition are between Azeem Sarwar who will face Howard Shu, the fifth seed from America and Amir Saeed who is up against Hussain Ali of Canada.
