17 member Khanewal Team selected for Inter District Punjab Taekwondo Championship 2019
Several talented taekwondo athletes came up front to become a part of Khanewal team that will participate in the upcoming 2019 Inter District Punjab Taekwondo Championship on 7 & 8 November in Haroonabad.
To represent Khanewal district in the upcoming Inter District Punjab Taekwondo Championship 2019, trials were held for the selection of best players to form a team that can earn laurels in the championship.
These trials were open to both male and female fighters who displayed amazing skills among which a total of ten male and seven female athletes were selected to form a team for Khanewal district.
Selected ones namely are stated below along with their weight classes:
Males: Hassan Bilal Khalid (-25 KG), Muhammad Atiq Ali (-30 KG), Ansar Abbas (-35 KG), Malik Ehtesham (-40 KG), Waleed Ul Hassan (-45 KG), Ehsan Iqbal (-50 KG), Wasif Ali (-56 KG), Irfan Ijaz (-62 KG), Ehsan Iqbal Haraj (-68 KG) and Meesum Temar (+76 KG).
Females: Urooj (-27 KG), Tabasum Yusuf (-32 KG), Saira Yusuf (-38 KG), Bakhtawar (-44 KG), Fatima Batool (-50 KG), Saira Parveen (-56 KG) and Sadaf Mukhtar (-63 KG).
District Sports Officer, Shafeeq Ur Rehman Khan Khatak is hopeful that the above mentioned team of 17 athletes will produce strong game and would be able to win medals for the district in the Inter District Punjab Taekwondo Championship 2019 which will be held on 7th to 8th November at Haroon Club in Haroonabad.
