Pakistan to feature in Belt and Road China Open International Taekwondo Championship 2019
Pakistan's Taekwondo team has left to participate in the 2019 Belt and Road China Open International Taekwondo Championship which will begin from today in Xian, China.
According to the press release issued by Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTWF), Pakistan's National Taekwondo Team will participate in Belt and Road China Open International Taekwondo Championship which will begin from today and continue till 10th of November, 2019 in Xian, China.
Following officials / players will attend the said event:
1. Syed Sadaqat Hussain (Team Head)
2. Muhammad Farooq (Coach)
3. Rab Nawaz
4. Jabran Asad JKhan
5. Muhammad Owais
6. Muhammad Zahid
Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTWF) President Lt Col (R) Wasim Ahmed Janjua was of the view that this event will add good experience and exposure for upcoming South Asian Games in Nepal for the fighters. The athletes will also get ranking points which help them to improve their personal ranking.
He further said,
"I hope the Pakistan Sports Board and Pakistan Olympic Association will duly help us in providing the players and officials the NOC timely. As it will help them prepare well for the said event as well as for the South Asian Games in Nepal."
PTWF President also lauded the efforts of IPC Minister, Dr Fahmida Mirza and the IPC Secretary saying they are highly helpful in providing the best assistance and cooperation to the federation as well as the athletes. They hope that such support will continue for the promotion of Taekwondo in Pakistan and it will motivate the athletes to give their best and earn international medals for the country.
