Australia comfortably win the second T20 international against Pakistan

Australia chased down the target of 150 easily thanks to a stupendous batting display by Steve Smith in the second game of the three match T20 international series against Pakistan at Canberra.

Pakistan bowling attack got the first taste of the level of difficulty they will have to face against Steve Smith as he masterfully guided his side to a 7 wicket win over Pakistan in the second T20 international at Canberra.

Australian openers picked up where they left of from in the first game, blazing their way to 25 in just two overs while chasing a modest 151 run target set by Pakistan.

Warner hit four 4's in Imad Wasim's first and Pakistan's second over to set the tone early before he was cleaned up for 20 by Amir in his first over.

This brought Steve Smith to the crease and he proceeded to carve up Pakistani bowling attack to ensure the first win of the series for his side after the washout in the first game.

Smith finished his innings 82 not out from just 51 balls hitting eleven fours and one six to see his side home comfortably.

Earlier in the game Pakistan set a modest total for Australia having elected to bat first with an unchanged side.

Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed were the only major contributors to the score, both scoring fifties.

Pakistan once again stumbled early in the game as Fakhar Zaman lasted for only 2 runs before getting out. Haris Sohail with  6, Mohammad Rizwan with 14 and Asif Ali with 4 also failed with the bat.

Babar Azam managed to score another 50 before being run out on the very ball he achieved the milestone on.

Iftikhar Ahmed provided much needed power hitting for Pakistan, remaining not out on 62 with five fours and three sixes.

It was, however, not enough for Pakistan's side as they managed to only get to 150 from their 20 overs.

Patrick Cummins was the pick of the bowlers for Australia as he finished with one wicket for just 19 runs in his four overs. Ashton Agar managed to pick up 2.

The two sides will now head to Perth for the final T20 international where Australia will look to seal the series.
