The 2012 world champion Muhammad Asif thrashed Enes Bakirci of the host Turkey with the fabulous break of 79 and 78 in last two frames.
The 37-year-old Asif, hailing from the industrial town of Faisalabad won the encounter with the final score line of 58-40, 65-1, 80(79)-38, 91(78)-8.
Mubashar Raza, hailing from Lahore, got off to a flying start to the competition as well as he sealed the day by hitting century break of 101 points. Mubashar overwhelmed Kevin Hanssens of Belgium 4-0.
The scores were 122(101)-1, 65(65)-10, 75(65)-31, 82(60)-27
The Championship has a record participation of 219 players for Men, Women and Masters from total 40 countries. Players have been divided into 5 players per group and three from each group will move on to the knockout stage.
