Pakistan to face Qatar in Bronze medal fight at Volleyball event of 7th World Military Games (CISM)
The Green Team will take on Qatar to try and grab the Bronze medal after falling to China 3-0 at the Volleyball event of CISM World Military Games 2019 which are being held in Wuhan city of China.
Pakistan Services Team had been performing quiet well in the Volleyball event of CISM World Military Games 2019 as the yesterday's loss against the host nation was only their second defeat of the tournament.
After beating Iran 3-1 in the quarter final, Pakistan competed with the host nation China in the semi-final where the boys in Green faced a challenging time conceding the game 3-0 without winning a set.
Earlier in group encounters, Pakistan thrashed Netherlands and Canada 3-0 but fell to Korea 3-2 in their third game. Qualifying for the quarter finals they triumphed over Iran, dominating them 3-1. But a second defeat against China sees them out of the race for the gold medal. The team will now face Qatar for shot at a third place finish and the bronze medal with it.
Pakistan's Volleyball squad: Anwar Khan, Farooq Haider, Hamid Yazman, Muhammad Yaseen, Abuzar, Fahad Raza, Afaq Khan, Asif Nadeem, Mubashar Raza, Muhammad Usman, Muhammad Dawood and Usman Faryad.
The 7th successful edition of Military World Games are the first international military multi-sport event which are being held in China. It is the largest military sporting event ever to be held in China, with over 10,000 athletes from over 140 countries.
As many as 24 athletes from Pakistan are featuring in three different sports at these prestigious Games which are: Golf, Volleyball and Shooting.
