Saqib Shahzad lifted the Pakistan Day Tenpin Bowling Championship title here at Leisure City Bowling Club Safa Gold Mall on late Wednesday night.
A huge number of Islamabad and Rawalpindi players along with Islamabad lawyers and media players participated in the one-day championship.
It was truly remarkable performance by Saqib, who, on his way to title, beat the likes of two-time former national champion Ijaz Ur Rehman, one-time champion M Hussain Chattha and other highly senior players.
The pair of Saqib and Sammer Abbas won the media/professional doubles title, followed by Yasin/Mohsin Ali.
In the professional singles final round, Saqib secured first position by scoring total of 570 pins with the total average of 190 in 3 games.
Hussain Chattha secured second spot scoring total of 551 pins, with total average of 183, while Ijaz ur Rehman earned third place with 523 pins with total average of 174.
In the media/professional category, which was introduced for the very first time, pair of Saqib/Syed Sammer Ababs grabbed top slot with total of 317 pins, while Mohsin Ali/Yasin managed second spot with total of 309 pins and Shakir Abbasi/Afzal remained third with 287 pins.
Islamabad High Court Bar Association president Tariq Mehmood Jehangiri and PTBF secretary Ijaz Ur Rehman distributed trophies among the players.
Ijaz thanked the chief guest and congratulated the nation on Pakistan Day and requested the nation to set their difference aside in bringing peace and prosperity to our motherland.
