Pakistan's duo of Zulqarnain & Adnan beat Indian Pair to win Gold at South Asia Regional Badminton Championships 2019
Pakistan’s duo of Raja Zulqarnain Haider and Mohammad Adnan claimed the men’s doubles gold medal after beating the Indian pair in the final of U21 South Asian Regional Championship 2019 played at Addu City in the Maldives.
Pakistan’s duo of Raja Zulqarnain Haider and Mohammad Adnan claimed the men’s doubles gold medal after beating the Indian pair in the final of U21 South Asian Regional Championship 2019 played at Addu City in the Maldives.
The Pakistani pair, in men’s doubles final, outclassed Indian pair of Sarath Dunna and Sai Charan Koya 2-1 in an exciting encounter. Zulqarnain and Adnan lost the first game 15-21, but fought back to win the next two with the score of 21-11 and 21-19 to claim the title.

Earlier, the Pakistani pair defeated Jimba Sangay Lhendup and Jamyang Tenzin of Bhutan 2-0 in the semi-final, while in the quarter-final, they downed the second-seeded Nepali pair comprising Prince Dahal and Praful Maharjan with the score line of 21-13, 21-23 and 21-18.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's local talent Qari Adnan and most talented Mahvish Khan along Raja Zulqarnain from Punjab also steered Pakistan team to win Bronze medal in South Asia Under 21 Regional Badminton Championships 2019 mixed team event held at Maldives. All seven countries of South Asia participated in the championship.
President Pakistan Badminton Federation Nisar Ahmad Shahwani and Secretary General Mr. Wajid Ali Chaudhry congratulated to the team and wish them for more victories in future.
Pakistan team were comprised of current National Champion Qari Adnan and most talented female Mahvish Khan along Amin and Raja Zulqarnain from Punjab.
Qari Adnan is the current National Junior Champion besides winning the titles of the National Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 while Mahvish Khan is the Provincial Champion and she also made an upset during the trials by defeating top seeded players.
