Quaid-e-Millat Club coast their ways to semis of IG Sindh District Inter Club Hockey Championship 2019
Mirza Ahmed Ali and Waseem Ghauri guided the Quaid-e-Millat Club to a superb 2-0 win over Raushamshad Club in IG Sindh District Inter Club Hockey Championship 2019 at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr Junaid Ali Shah Sports Complex, Karachi.
Mirza Ahmed Ali and Waseem Ghauri scored 2-goals to guide the Quaid-e-Millat Club to a superb 2-0 win over Raushamshad Club in the ongoing First IG Sindh District Inter Club Hockey Championship 2019 at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr Junaid Ali Shah Sports Complex, Karachi.
Mirza Ahmed Ali and Waseem Ghauri sounded the board in the 39th and 54th minutes respectively to seal the match in Quaid-e-Millat Club’s favour and booked berth into the semifinal of the championship.
In the gritty first quarter, despite controlling a large amount of possession, Quaid-e-Millat club found it difficult to find a breakthrough. The teams went into half-time without troubling the scores.
Both teams kept the tempo up in the third period and all the circle entries and creative play finally found it’s reward in the 39th minute as Mirza Ahmed Ali goal gave Quaid e Milt Club the lead.
Quaid-e-Millat Club capitalized on Raushamshad Club attacking necessity meanwhile in the 54th minute, Waseem Ghauri finished off a slick move to double Quaid-e-Millat Club’s lead.
It was a lead they held to finish the game as Quaid-e-Millat club coasted their way to the semifinals of the League. Waseem Abbas, Muhammad Irfan and Amir Faiz supervise the match as an umpires.
A former hockey player Hafiz Ghulam Nabi graced the ceremony as a chief guest and accompanied by Hafiz Shaun Mohammed Principal Compress Hansu High School. The distinguished guests were introduced to the players and also to the officials.
Also present were Tournament Director Muhammad Saleem Khan, Organizing Secretary Malik Mohammad Rustam and other DHA Bahawalnagar officials.
Seven teams, six districts and Sindh Police are vie for honours in the IG Sindh Inter-district Hockey League which continues in full swing at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr Junaid Ali Shah Sports Complex, Karachi.
