Pakistan Volleyball Team Captain, Aimal Khan emerges top-scorer of 20th Asian Men's Volleyball Championship
Proficient Volleyball player of Pakistan, Aimal Khan stood the top scorer at the recently concluded 20th Asian Seniors Men’s Volleyball Championship that was held in Tehran, Iran.
The 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship was the 20th successful edition of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF).
The championship was held in Tehran from September 13 to 21 which, this time, featured as many as 16 nations which included: South Korea, Indonesia, Kuwait, Iran, Pakistan, Australia, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, China, Oman and India.
Among several skilled and talented players of the mentioned nations that took part in this mega international event, Pakistan's very own, Aimal Khan, Pakistan Volleyball Team Captain, managed to score as many as 153 points to stand as the top scorer of the championship.
Renowned Aimal's 153 points are the highest individual score from any player of the event.
As of the green team's overall performance in the championship, Pakistan ended their journey on 7th spot by defeating the arch-rivals, India, where the team faced quiet a thrilling encounter but eventually itched their name on the winning side of the score board on the final score line of 3-2.
To this performance of the Pakistani team, Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) organised a reception at a local hotel in honor of the National Senior and Under-23 teams for their great display in both the Asian Championships in Iran and Myanmar.
Chairman PVF, Chaudry Mohammad Yaqoob was the honorable chief guest who awarded the players with cash prizes amounting to Rs 800,000.
