Professional boxer of Pakistan Muhammad Waseem recommenced his tough training sessions in Glasgow for his next fight that will be held on November 22 in Dubai.
Pakistani pugilist, Mohammad Waseem, who recently bounced back from his first career loss when he faced Philippines’ Conrado Tanamor (11-3, 4 KOs) in their flyweight bout in a Ranking Fight at the Caesars Palace in Dubai, by an incredible triumph, have now resumed his training in Glasgow for his next fight that will be held on November 22 in Dubai.
“I reached here yesterday night and today I resumed my training.” said Former World No. 1, Waseem.
The 32-year-old Waseem, is being backed by MTK Global, a major boxer management company, based in England which, under its belt has around 150 leading boxers from around the world. The Quetta-born fighter would be trained under his skilled coach, Danny Vaughan, who would join him next week as he is currently in London for his work.
The former two-time WBC flyweight world silver champion also hinted that he might also go to Holland ahead of his upcoming fight for sparring.
“There is a chance I may go to Holland for some training as I will be able to get different sparring partners there.” said Waseem.
Waseem stands as one of the best boxers produced by Pakistan, who has played ten fights so far, winning nine of them with seven knock-outs while losing only one where he went down against South African counterpart, Moruti Mthalane in Kuala Lumpur, losing the International Boxing Federation (IBF) world title fight.
Since then, Waseem was out of action but recently he have made a comeback with a stunning win due to which he attracted the attention of cricket legends Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik. He was warmly welcomed by Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and Balochistan Chief Minister, Jam Kamal Khan which the boxer said motivated him ahead of his next fight.
2015 was the year when Waseem left the amateur circuit and turned professional having won bronze in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. He clinched the WBC world sliver title in only his 4th bout and just months later defended that. However, most of his short pro career was dogged by financial issues that forced Waseem to stay out of the ring for quite some time. But he feels that his new voyage would be more successful as he said that without caring for anything else he would now focus on his game.
