Sindh Police to take on District Central in IG Sindh Inter-district Hockey League opener

Seven teams, six districts and Sindh Police will vie for honours in the IG Sindh Inter-district Hockey League which gets into action at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr Junaid Ali Shah Sports Complex, Karachi.

Seven teams, six districts and Sindh Police will vie for honours in the IG Sindh Inter-district Hockey League which gets into action at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr Junaid Ali Shah Sports Complex, Karachi. 

According to draws, Sindh Police takes on District Central in the tournament’s opening match at 4:00 pm. The event is being organised by the Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) and its secretary Syed Haider Hussain is the organising secretary. 

The KHA secretary said lucrative prizes in cash and kind are at stake. The winner will be awarded Rs150,000 while losing finalists receives Rs75,000. Best player of the tournament, top scorer of the tournament and best goalkeeper of the tournament will be presented brand new motorcycles. Besides, every man of the match earns Rs5,000.

The professional Hockey League is being organized from October 3 to 13 with the help of Sindh Police Sports Board organized by KHA. Inspector General Sindh Inter District Hockey League Olympian Hanif Khan / Dr. Junaid Ali Sports Complex will be held in Karachi.

With the special support of Sindh Police Sports Board, this unique professional hockey league will provide players with the opportunity to showcase their abilities.

Karachi Hockey Association in collaboration with Pakistan Hockey Federation is organizing the IG Sindh Intermediate Hockey League 2019 to promote the national sport under the domestic hockey vision 2020 of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, at the grass root level among the districts players who have the passion to play the national game.
