PSF slammed for sending players without manager
Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) sends teams or individual players for international events without managers
Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) sends teams or individual players for international events without managers.
“They don’t send managers with players and sometimes even with teams,” said a local coach. “This is a very strange practice as no nation in the world does this,” he added.
The coach added that the federation did not care what players do at international platforms even if they deface the name of the country. “They are least bothered about the security of the players. Sending players to international assignments alone is very dangerous,” said the coach.
He said recently 14 Pakistani players went to play Qatar Open and Doha Open without any official from PSF.
One of the players was stopped by Qatar’s immigration authorities and interrogated. “Players don’t know how to handle things on their own. They need managers,” said the coach.
He added that almost all the players bore their expenses for these two events. “The PSF should have at least sponsored one official to be with them,” said the coach.
“I have seen some of them in England using public transport without giving fare. They just run away from the second door of the bus without paying anything,” he added.
The officials of British Junior Open have complained to PSF many times that Pakistani players do unethical activities at the championship which embarrass the organisers and other players.
“PSF is spending thousands of dollars on useless activities, but it doesn’t have funds to send managers with players and teams,” added the coach.
