Chipursan FC clinch Peshawar Zalmi TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League 2019 title
Chipursan FC lifted the title of Peshawar Zalmi TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League 2019 by defeating Shimshal FC convincingly on 3-1 score line in the final encounter at Surunabad Football Ground, Hunza.
Chipursan and Shimshal football teams were at battle for the final triumph at Peshawar Zalmi TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League 2019 where it were the efforts of Chipursan FC girls that made it possible for them to take home the title victory easily on 3-1 as the final score line.
Both teams start the final clash aggressively, not allowing any team mates to come forward to their respective goal post and as a result, the finale ended in a goalless draw. Penalty shootout was then determine to decided upon the final winner.
As both the teams were eager to win the tournament, players from Chipursan FC made Shimshal FC girls fall to them on 4 of their penalties but managed to edge past 3 goals from the opponent's goal keeper which resulted in Chipursan FC's title triumph of this mega football event.
Peshawar Zalmi TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League 2019 was the brainchild of two former football players, Karishma and Sumera, who have represented Pakistan internationally and belong to the region of Shimshal. The event featured more than 120 girls eager for this sport.
A total of eight teams competed for top honors in this tournament which namely were: Shimshal, Chipursan, Shishkat, Passu, Sost, Hunza, Khyber and Gircha.
To the successful holding of this five-day event, Peshawar Zalmi Chairman, Javed Afridi expressed his gratitude by saying,
“We are thankful to all the partners and locals involved in making this event a huge success.”
