Pakistan U-16 Team to feature in AFC U-16 Football Championship 2020 Qualifiers
Pakistan U-16 Football Team left for Saudi Arabia to part take in the 2020 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-16 Football Championship Qualifiers which are to be held from 18 to 22 September at Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium, Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Even with immense football talent in the Pakistani nation, the issues with Federation do not provide much opportunity for the players to showcase their talent in international events but this time, nothing stopped the Under-16 football team of Pakistan from featuring in the mega qualifiers of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-16 Football Championship 2020.
The green shirts flew out of Lahore for Saudi Arabia where they will be giving their all to get selected for the international event of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-16 Football Championship 2020 in the qualifiers.
The 23-member Pakistani squad have been clubbed in Group D with Saudi Arabia, Syria and Oman. Pakistan will open their campaign against Oman on 18th September and will compete with the hosts, Saudi Arabia on 20th. Pakistan will face Syria on 22nd September. Where as the national side would also play two practice matches against local clubs in Dammam.
Pakistani team underwent a six-week training camp at Lahore under the supervision of Brazilian coach Jose Roberto Portella who had acted as Pakistan’s senior team trainer during 2018 and 2019 along with the Brazilian coach Jose Nogueira.
