Pakistan 9-member squad ready to compete in 44th World Bridge Team Championship
Pakistan are fielding two teams in the 44th World Bridge Team Championship taking place from 14th-28th September at the Wuhan International Convention Center in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

The ladies team comprises of Rubina Agha (captain), Qudsia Dossa, Rubina Hai, Fatima Raza, Shahnaz Pirzada and Najm Abid.
The other national side will compete in the Mixed Team Event and includes top-ranked bridge players like Ghalib Bandesha, Durriah Vasi and Sajid Nabi Malik, who will also be the Chef-de-Mission.
The teams left for China on Wednesday.
Another honour for Pakistan is that Ihsan Qadir, an accomplished tournament organiser, secretary general of the Pakistan Bridge Federation will be the tournament director at this world event as a nominee of the World Bridge Federation. President of the Pakistan Bridge Federation Javed Khalid is optimistic about Pakistan’s chances in this 44th World Bridge Team Championship.
"We can produce top quality players if we are given right kind of support," President of Pakistan Bridge Foundation (PBF), Javaid Khaliq said. Around 800 people will vie for the trophies in the 15-day coveted bridge event.
The team made to the competition after their victory in the BFAME Championship in Jordan this year.
Founded in 1950, the World Bridge Team Championships are the biennial top-level tournament of its kind. The Championships, held in odd-numbered years, comprise the Bermuda Bowl (open teams), Venice Cup (women's teams), D'Orsi Senior Bowl (senior teams) and the newly-introduced Mixed National Teams event.
