Pakistani pro boxer, Muhammad Waseem returns to the ring tomorrow at a Ranking Fight in Dubai
Two-time WBC world silver flyweight champion, Muhammad Waseem of Pakistan is all set to stage a comeback to the ring with his bout against Filipino, Conrado Tenamor tomorrow at a Ranking Fight in Dubai.
Pakistan’s premier professional boxer and former World No. 1, Muhammad Waseem will return to ring after a year of gap with a ranking fight tomorrow which is part of the Rotunda Rumble event being promoted by Ahmed A. Seddiqi’s Round 10 Boxing in association with MTK Global at the Caesars Palace in Dubai where the 31 year old Pakistani would be taking on his Filipino counterpart, Conrado Tenamor.
Waseem was earlier slated to face s highly-experienced, Thai boxer, Wittawas Basapean but the latter was forced to skip the fight due to injury he developed during sparring. Quetta boxer was then scheduled to return to the ring in June but could not do so due to medical issues.
This will be almost after 14 long months that Waseem is making a return to the ring as he was controversially denied the International Boxing Federation (IBF) world flyweight crown in his last bout when he went down against, now MTK Global team-mate, Moruti Mthalane in Kuala Lumpur in June 2018 and since then he has not been seen in action but is determined to rise to the top level again by staging a come back tomorrow.
Muhammad ‘The Falcon’ Waseem holds an historic record of 8-1, 6 KOs and seems satisfied with his preparation and hopeful for the triumph to which he said,
"I have trained very well and I am hundred percent confident. I am strong both mentally and physically and Insh'Allah I will go for a win. It now depends on luck but I will definitely fight for a win."
Meanwhile, Waseem’s coach, Danny Vaughan was of the view that,
"Waseem has been training really hard for the fight. His opponent (Tenamor) is a very strong fighter but we are confident. Waseem is itching to compete and get this opponent out of the way."
