Davis Cupper Yasir Khan crowned 8th Essa lab National Seniors and Juniors Tennis C'ships Champion
Davis Cupper Yasir Khan emerged as champion in the men’s singles when he beat talented Parbat Kumar in a well-contested final in the 8th Essa lab National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championships that concluded at the Modern Club here the other day.
The 8th Essa lab National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championships that concluded successfully where Pakistan top junior player Hasheesh Kumar emerged victorious in the final after he best Mahatir Mohammad in straight sets by 6-4, 6-3 while Zahra Suleman of Lahore, the top seed in girls’ under-18 singles, became the champion after cruising past Natalia Zaman of Karachi 6-0, 6-0 here at the Modern Club, Karachi.

Also Irfan beat Ayub 8-4 in the wheelchair tennis final, Bilal Asim thrashed Haider Rizwan 6-1, 6-1 for the boys’ under-14 title and Hamza Ali Rizwan was crowned under-10 champion after he overwhelmed Samar Zaman 4-0, 4-1.
Dr Nadia Farha Essa, Director Operations Dr Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre was the chief guest at closing ceremony. In her closing remarks she emphasized the need of focusing for a healthier society and urged commercial houses to come forward and offer sponsorships and jobs to prominent players of country in all sports.
Khalid Rehmani, vice-president of Pakistan Tennis Federation and senior vice-president of Sindh Tennis Association, announced on the occasion that that a national juniors and two Asian U-14 events will be held in October and November respectively.
