Economics, Physical Education victorious in GCU Annual Sports
Economics and Physical Education department lifted the prestigious team trophies in boys and girls categories respectively at the closing day of the 116th Annual Sports of the Government College University Lahore.

Punjab Sports and Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony at the university’s Oval Ground while Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah was also present there.
Benish Nawaz of Physical Education Department won the title of best female athlete of GCU for her extraordinary performance in different sports competitions while Subhan Masood of Economics Department was declared the best male athlete.
The closing was marked by colorful gymkhana events including girls’ chatti race, cricket ball throw, pillow fighting, staff children race, wheel barrow race, musical chair and old Ravians handicap race.
Farzana Ashraf won chatti race and cricket ball throw, while Nadia Rohi was triumphant in the musical chair.
M Ghor won the obstacle race while Rashid Hafeez crossed the finish line first in sack race.
The education minister and vice chancellor also took part in the tug-of-war against the old Ravians as a message to promote the culture of sports among students and faculty members.
