Peshawar Zalmi steps up to hold TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League 2019 this month
To promote women sports in the country, Peshawar Zalmi has step forward to hold TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League 2019 through Zalmi TV from 13 to 17 September.
Peshawar Zalmi have once again step forward to support youth of Pakistan and this time to promote the idea of women empowerment by organizing TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League 2019 presented by Zalmi TV.
To this another initiative, Zalmi Foundation Chairman, Javed Afridi said,
"Zalmi aims to provide platforms for women to enter into the mainstream sports arena, Peshawar Zalmi, has once again stepped up to empower the youth of Pakistan."
This league is the brainchild of two former football players, Karishma and Sumera, who have represented Pakistan internationally and belong to the region of Shimshal. The event would be featuring more than 120 girls eager for this sport as they would be seen competing with all their talent so as to take the ultimate title of the league.
A total of eight teams are to compete for top honors which include: Shimshal, Chipurson, Shishkat, Passu, Sost, Hunza, Khyber and Gircha. All the matches will take place at Passu Football Ground Suronobod, Gojal Hunza.
Karishma Inayat and Sumaira Inayat, the heads of GBGFL said,
“We are excited to have Zalmi on board with us to take the league to the next level. Such initiatives will provide a platform for women to enter into the sports arena. We aim to take this league to all parts of Pakistan and we hope that one day we will be able to execute this. There are a lot of women with sporting talent in Pakistan; they just need a proper platform to showcase it.”
