Pakistan’s professional boxer Mohammad Waseem will face Indonesia’s John Bajawa in the third fight of his career in Seoul, South Korea, on Saturday (today).
The fight starts at 2pm PST.
Waseem’s promoter Andy Kim is confident about his fighter’s success.
“He is a world-class fighter and I am confident that he would win the fight,” Andy told this correspondent on Friday.
Waseem’s rival Bajawa has won 11 bouts out of 23 he has played in his career.
Waseem, who played in amateur circuit for Pakistan for a decade, turned pro early last year.
On October 4, 2015, in his debut bout he pulled off a splendid win when he knocked out Korea’s Min Wook Lee in the ninth round to win the Korean Boxing Commission’s (KBC) title in Incheon.
On December 5, 2015 in Bangkok, he knocked out Suparyanto Doglo of Indonesia in the third round to win his second successive bout.
For the Seoul fight Waseem underwent a month-long training at the Floyd Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, United States.
He then spent a few days here with the Pakistani boxers preparing for the Asian qualifying round of Rio Olympics.
Before departure to Korea a few days ago, Waseem had said that he was in fine shape and would beat Bajawa.
