An experienced and UEFA licensed foreign coach, Kevin Reeves conducted trials in Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta and Karachi and has shortlisted players for selection of Pakistan Soccer team for Socca World Cup 2019. UK based Kevin Reeves has immense experience of coaching football teams and has previously worked with some of the biggest clubs including Manchester United and Stoke City Football Club.
In Karachi, more than five hundred players turned up to appear in the trials. Gohar Zaman and Akbar Baloch assisted Reeves during the trials.
Media talk at the last leg of the trails saw Kevin Reeves and Leisure Leagues officials with full praise for Pakistani footballers and said that Pakistan footballers are highly talented. Reeves also praised World Group and Leisure Leagues for their endeavors to promote the game of football in the country.
“I can safely say that footballers of all cities are highly talented in Pakistan, talented players have been shortlisted for the camp, which will be held in Lahore where they will further be groomed well during the camp. I am hopeful that Pakistan will put up a tough fight against group teams. I would try my best that Pakistan qualify for the second round. I have complete faith in the potential of Pakistani players that they can upset any team and perform well anywhere in the world.”
He thanked the Trunkwala Family for giving him the honor to prepare Pakistan for Socca World Cup and providing all facilities to do his job properly. He added that they have also took his suggestions seriously.
After the camp in Lahore, another short camp will also be organized in Greece to accustom the players with the climate and conditions before the big event begins.
Brigadier (R) Nusrat Hayat Khan was also present, witnessing the trails in Karachi where he thanked Kevin Reeves for preparing Pakistan team for the Socca World Cup and praised him for working diligently to select talented players, coach them and establish a strong team for the Socca World Cup.
Pakistan also featured in the inaugural edition of Socca World Cup last year in Portugal, which was hosted by International Socca Federation (ISF). The tournament this year will be held in Crete, Greece in October.
