Gujranwala United lifts Punjab Talent Hunt Football Championship 2019 trophy
Faisalabad Layal FC were made fall on 2-1 by defeating Gujranwala United FC as they clinched the title victory of Punjab Talent Hunt Football Championship 2019 which was being held at City Sports Complex in Lahore.
The finale of the 2019 Punjab Talent Hunt Football Championship was a thrilling battle between the two most talented football teams namely: Gujranwala United Football Club and Faisalabad Layal Football Club in which Gujranwala United FC players made their opponents suffer the huge loss of title victory on 2-1 as the final score line.
One of the strong and unbeaten sides throughout the program, Faisalabad Layal FC finally fell when Gujranwala United boys' stamina and ability seemed too much for them to match up-to. But it was not an embarrassing blowout for the losing side as the players gave tough time to their opponents and succeed in equalizing the score line once as the final score stood 2-1.
The match began on high tempo as Faisalabad's side netted the first goal in just the 18th minute to lead on the scoreboard to which the Gujranwala side was not able to score against for the entire first first. But the second session proved to be in luck for Gujranwala players as they not just equalized the score at the 49th minute but also managed another goal successfully in the 62nd minute taking the lead of 2-1 which remained intact till the final whistle.
The third position went to Lahore Kings as they defeated Bahawalpur Strom FC. Husnain Butt of Gujranwala United was awarded with the title of Top Scorer of the event while Zain Ul Abideen of Faisalabad Layal FC was named as the Best Player. Fair play trophy went to Bahawalpur Strom FC.
Punjab Football Association (PFA) Vice President, Sheikh Iqbal alongside Chaudry Rashid, Farooque Bhatti, Mian Abbas and Zia Dogar was the honorable guest of honor who distributed trophies, medals, cash prizes and certificates to the high achievers of the program.
The Punjab Talent Hunt Football Championship 2019 was held under the auspices of Punjab Football Association (PFA) which featured as many as nine (9) divisional teams and all the matches were hosted at three different venues which were: Fame Football Ground Model Town, City Sports Complex Gulberg and Jallo Football Ground.
Earlier, in the first phase of the championship, inter-district matches were played between all 36 districts of Punjab in their concerned divisions and talented players were selected to form nine divisional teams who are to compete in this championship, currently.
