Pakistani Judokas to train in Japan for 13th South Asian Games
A 15-day elite-level Training Programme have been set up in Japan for judokas: Mohammad Hasnain and Humaira who will be featuring in the upcoming 13th South Asian Games which are to be hosted by Nepal in Kathmandu and Pokhara from December 1-10.
Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) is very much dependent on the two Judokas namely: Hasnain and Humaira, who will be representing Pakistan in the upcoming 13th South Asian Games and to train them to their best skill set, the federation have organized a 15-day elite-level Training Programme have been set up in Japan.
In this regard Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) Vice President, Masood Ahmed said,
“These judokas will undergo rigorous training at Saitama Prefecture campus of Japan’s Niiza University. A large number of judokas from all over the world get training in Japan. As these judokas (Hasnain and Humaira) have the potential to win gold medals in the South Asian Games, we’ve arranged training for them in Japan as well."
Hasnain have been a national champion who also cliched a silver medal at the Military Judo Championships in Uzbekistan. His current weight category is -66 kg. While Humaira, who stands as the current national champion is also a South Asian gold medalist. She posses incredible talent as she has been able to defend her national title for consecutive nine times in her weight category which is -49 KG.
Both these judokas are also part of Pakistan’s four-member team that is set to battle at this year’s World Judo Championships taking place in Nippon Budokan, Tokyo from 23 to 28. August along with akistan’s Japan-based other two judokas namely: Shah Hussain Shah (-100 KG) and Amina Toyda (-57 KG).
Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) Vice President, Masood Ahmed also said,
“Usually, a judoka from a foreign country is allowed only a 2-3 day training session in Japan. However, the All Japan Judo Federation has allowed over two weeks training stint for our judokas.”
