PAK#1 boxer, Mohammad Waseem to stage a comeback at a ranking fight in Dubai on September 13

Pakistan’s premier professional boxer and former World No. 1 Mohammad Waseem will return to ring after a year with a ranking fight on 13th September in Dubai.

The 31 year old boxer from Quetta, Mohammad Waseem holds an historic record of 8-1, 6 KOs and is going to have a comeback at the Rotunda Rumble event - Ahmed A Seddiqi’s Round 10 Boxing, in association with MTK Global promoting the event that will be held at the Caesars Palace in Dubai.

Mohammad ‘The Falcon’ Waseem was controversially denied the International Boxing Federation (IBF) world flyweight crown in his last bout when he went down against, now MTK Global team-mate, Moruti Mthalane in Kuala Lumpur in June 2018 and since then he has not been seen in action but is determined to rise to the top level again by staging a come back on 13th Septeber.

Waseem’s opponent for Dubai’s fight will be officially announced soon but he seems to know his counterpart as he shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight saying,

“Dubai fight was announced suddenly so it would definitely be a tough fight as my opponent has played a few world title bouts."

Waseem has been in Glasgow for the last six months training hard for a bout which was previously scheduled in last June but that fight never happened due to the lack of medical clearance from the British Boxing Board.

Waseem says that he wants to play a few ranking fights before going for a world title shot,
“Yes, that is my basic aim. When I have improved my ranking, I will go for the big prize."
