Hamza & Umer to feature in IBSF World U16 Snooker Championships 2019

The Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association announced that the Pakistan snooker team has been finalized for participation in the IBSF World U16(Boys & Girls)Snooker Championships in Tyumen, Russia. The Pakistani team be departing for Russia on 18th August, from Karachi for participation in IBSF World U-16 Championships 2019.
Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) president Munawwar Hussain Shaikh announced that Hamza Ilyas and Umar Khan would represent Pakistan in the event, accompanied by Shabbir Hussain Daruwala, an international referee.
“Both our teenagers are leaving the shores of the country with realistic hopes of bringing home glories. They are adequately talented and high on confidence. They have the potential and the exposure in the World Under-16 Championship will be a great learning curve for them,” Munawwar said.
Punjab’s 14-year-old Hamza Ilyas who won the Jubilee Insurance First National Snooker Championship-2019 will represent Pakistan in the World U16 Championship. Hamza is just 14, but he has been playing in the national U18 circuit for the last three years. Promising youngsters Mohammad Umar Khan have had the knack of performing creditably in the national events.
