UMT Club wins Jashan E Azadi Sports Festival 2019: Taekwondo competition

Jashan E Azadi Sports Festival 2019 is continued in full swing wher in Taekwondo competition UMT Club claimed the crown at Nishtar Park Sports Complex in Lahore.

As many as 370 Taekwondo athletes showed up to display their skills by participating in the competitions of Taekwondo event of Jashan E Azadi Sports Festival 2019 which is being held at different areas within the country. 

Jashan E Azadi Sports Festival 2019 is having various sports competitions withing such as Archery, Roller Sports, Swimming, Taekwondo, Vovinam and Wushu etc. which are organized under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab and Lahore Divisional Sports Office. 

Among several talented Taekwondo fighters, UMT Club took the crown to stand at the top spot and was followed by Unified Club, whose players were able to take the runner up position while  Leebum Club settled for the third post.

The Vovinan contest saw Muskan Ijaz taking home the title victory of 50 KG weight class while Muqaddas managed to take the second spot and Saadia and Hamna, jointly shared the third position. 

Javeria Waqar emerged winner of 35 KG weight category and was followed by Manahil Iftikhar and Rania Kamran on second and third positions, respectively.  Nimra Waqar, Hafiza Iftikhar and  Maroosh Ijaz took the honors of 30 KG weight class on first, second and third posts, respectively. 

Meanwhile, Sports Board Punjab and Divisional Sports Office also organized a Kashmir Rally to show solidarity with Kashmiri brethren that was led by Director General Sports Board Punjab, Adnan Arshad Aulakh. The rally began from National Hockey Stadium and concluded at Punjab Football Stadium.


To this successful organization of sports competitions across the province to celebrate the Independence Day, Director General Sports Board Punjab, Adnan Arshad Aulakh was of the view that,
“Our players must bring discipline among themselves. SBP will continue to hold such events in future. The young players are taking active part in these competitions and they will definitely create national zeal among the young players of the province.”
At the end, DG Sports Punjab, Adnan Arshad Aulakh gave away several prizes among the high achievers of the competitions.
