21st Sindh Open Golf Championship to tee off from 16th August

SGA will be organizing yet another edition of Sindh Open Golf Championship, into the current year which will tee off from 16th August at Arabian Sea Country Club in Karachi.

Sindh Golf Association (SGA) is all set to organize another edition of Sindh Open Golf Championship, into the current year that will feature quiet a noticeable number of golfers in several competitions to be contested in this championship. 

Professionals and amateurs will play three rounds with senior professionals, senior amateurs, junior professionals and ladies playing two rounds each. While it was announced that another junior category will also be contested amongst the amateurs this time in a move to promote young and aspiring golf players, who will be given separate awards.

Matloob Ahmed, who dethroned Shabbir Iqbal with his four-year record over the Sindh Open Golf Championship crown last year, will be the defending player this time. 

This year’s Sindh Open carries a prize purse of Rupees 3 million with the efforts and help of CEO Arabian Sea Country Club, Mr. Arif, whose dedication towards improving golf standards in the country indicated by the fact that all participating professional golfers will be provided accommodation at the Arabian Sea Country Club.

He said, 
“In most golf courses in Pakistan, the professional golfers aren’t even allowed in the club house since they aren’t members. But we have made it a point that the golfers are given residence at the club during the tournament.”
